I was translating a document from English to Arabic in a Lotus Symphony document and it was really an annoying experience, as pressing the right cursor goes left and vice versa, as well as many other annoyances.
I searched the Symphony help and found that a feature called “CTL” (Complex Text Layout) enables Arabic support – as well as many other right-to-left languages – and it really helped.
This feature is not enabled by default, and to enable it, click on File->Preferences->Language Settings->Languages and check “Enabled for Complex Text Layout”, then you can choose the CTL language from the CTL drop-down list above (Arabic in my case).

أود أن أزيد على ما ذكرت إن بإمكان المستخدم أن يطبع الأرقام المشرقية أو ما بات يعرف بالأرقام الهندية مع النص العربي لأنها أجمل و أكثر تناسقاً مع رسم الحرف العربي من الأرقام الغربية أو ما بات يعرف بالأرقام العربية.
للوصول إلى الخيارات المناسبة:
Preferences > Language Settings > Complex Text Layout > General Options > Choose Numerals Context
